QUALIFICATIONS

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE Note that participants need to submit medical certificate to complete registration. Please download the template from our website https://mesastila100ultra.com/medical-certificate and email us the completed form.

AGE

Any male or female 18 years of age or older as of race day, who is in good health and can complete the race without getting lost.

For youths who are 18 or 19 years old, parental/ guardian permission is required.

EXPERIENCE

Participants will be asked during registration to provide details of qualifying event name and time result record.

  1. 120Km: Participants are required to have completed trail race with minimum distance of 70KM.
  2. 75Km: Participants are required to have completed road or trail race with minimum distance of 50KM.
  3. 50Km: Participants are required to have completed road or trail race with minimum distance of 21KM.
  4. 25Km and 12Km : No qualification is required, but note that MesaStila100 is a very tough route, runners MUST prepare themselves physically and psychologically, and are strongly advised to read more and educate themselves with the nature and challenges of trail run.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in an ultra-long distance trail running race. You will be running in the dark of early morning and all day through mountainous terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.
  3. You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds, and rain) and other troubles expected when traveling across mountainous terrain.
  4. You are able to deal with extreme fatigue, internal organ and digestive problems, muscle pain, mild physical injuries and psychological problems on your own.
  5. You fully understand that you are responsible for overcoming the above conditions 1 to 4 on your own and that it is not the responsibility of the race organization.
  6. You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.
  7. Video/television footage, photos, articles, race results, etc. may be used and/or shown in newspapers, television, magazines, internet, pamphlets, etc.
  8. You understand and agree that these rights belong to the race organization and may be used for these purposes.

REFUND POLICY

  • Once your registration is paid and approved, cancellation is not allowed. Request for transferring your registration to another runner will be considered on case-by-case basis, please contact us by email.
  • Due to the processing fee charged by Paypal, and overhead administrative cost, any refund will be subject to a deduction of between 3-5% of the amount paid. Any reasonable change of this deduction amount will be made known accordingly.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE AND CONSIDERATION FOR OTHERS

  • If during the race, you encounter another runner or staff member who is injured or sick and unable to move on their own, please give priority to assisting that person by telling race staff for assistance.
  • The race is located on national park and other public/private property places. Please be mindful and share the trail with others at all times. There will be “no passing sections” signs along the race course where you will be prohibited from passing other runners and hikers.
  • Do not damage any property located along the race course.

AID STATION AND OUTSIDE SUPPORT

  • Food and drinks will be provided as well Aid Stations as well Aid Stations. Details will be confirmed nearer to race day.
  • Outside support by family and friends is not allowed.
  • The food and drinks at the aid stations are only for the racers.
  • Non-registered racers may not run alongside racers. (No pacers allowed).

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE DURING THE RACE

  • In order to ensure race safety, race organizer will prepare and arrange for rescue and medical assistance during the race. However, each participant must recognize and understand that there are risks that may result in injuries and/or accidents associated with trail running. You are responsible for yourself and will be participating in this race at your own risk.
  • Emergency and first aid tents staffed by a doctor and/or nurse will be located at pointed aid stations. All aid stations will have radio communication to race headquarters.
  • Emergency rescues/procedures will be available to racers as well all those involved in the race (e.g. staff, supporters
  • Please note that, depending on the area, it may take a long period of time for help to reach you.
  • If you receive emergency medical assistance from a rescue crew and/or doctor, please make sure that you get examined by a medical expert at a hospital after the race. Please contact the race organizer centre to let them know of your condition after the medical examination.
  • Doctors and rescue staff have the authority to stop a racer from continuing the race. This will be done by taking off the racer’s number card and IC chips.
  • If you drop out of the race, you can continuing walk by take a shorter path to the pick up point that will take you back to the finish line.
  • Depending on your condition, an emergency evacuation may be required. This evacuation will be at the expense of the person being rescued. For all racers must be obtain adequate travel insurance coverage for the duration of your stay.
  • In the case of an emergency, if you are unable to reach the nearest Medic aid station, pick up point or finish line, the committee will give assistance.

RACE COURSE MARKERS

  • The race course will be marked using marking tapes and signs. Race staff will also be positioned along the course. Dangerous areas up in the mountains will be marked by ropes and patrolled by staff in order to reduce risk.

(Note: Permission has been obtained from the appropriate land owners and property managers to put up temporary signs and marking tapes)

  • There will be a “no-passing” section as well as other sections with specific rules/conditions. Please abide by these rules.
  • Racers will be stopped at road intersections. Please follow the directions given by the race staff at these intersections.
  • The above signs and markers will be set up just before the race and will be immediately removed after the race.

DROPPING OFF THE RACE

If you decide to drop out of the race, you must notify race staff. Please remove your race card/bib and and report to a race staff member so that race Organizer Center can be notified. Once you’ve dropped out of the race, you will not be able to re-start.

Remember to keep your race card with you as you will need it to retrieve your bags from the bag storage area.

DROPPING OUT AT AN AID STATION

  • Tell an aid station staff that you’ve decided to drop out of the race.
  • You will be able to return to the finish line area by a race shuttle that will stop by the aid stations. This race shuttle will not be available late at night/early morning however, you will be able to rest/sleep in a waiting area provided at the aid stations.

DROPPING OUT ALONG THE COURSE

  • If you are able to move on your own, please make your way to the closest aid station (either return to the aid station you just left or go the next aid station). If you are unable to move without assistance, please tell staff and follow their instructions. It will take time to get help out to you if you are out on the race course. If you are not feeling well, it would be best to make your decision to drop out at an aid station.

GEAR AND EQUIPEMENT

Mandatory:

  1. Bib
  2. Mobile phone (Advised to get a prepaid local number with data plan, available at shops around race central. If using number that is different from your registration, please inform organizer)
  3. Hydration Bag, Hydrobag or Hydration Vest, minimum capacity 1.5 Litre, must be filled-up before START, and to be refilled at water station.Do not use handheld bottle. You need your hands for more important situation during the race.
  4. Personal food (energy gels, bars, chomps, powders)
  5.  For ALL categories: Headlamps with functional battery + spare battery. For 42KM/65KM/100KM and 170KM bring spare lights, in forms of headlamps or torchlight.
  6. Survival/Emergency Blanket
  7. Whistle
  8. Basic Aid-Kit, and personal medicines (e.g. for allergies)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

  •  Suitable apparels and equipment for extreame cold weather and rain (long sleeves, leggings, jacket, mitten, gloves, buff, light raincoat)
  • Gaiter for 42KM/65km/100km AND 170km, due to dusty leading up and down Mt. Andong and Mt. Merbabu, sandy sections leading up/down Pasar Bubrah(Mt. Merapi)
  • Life, accident or travel insurance.

Please view these gears and equipment list as more for safety necessity instead of being just compulsory items.

PROHIBITED ACTIONS

  1. A racer may be disqualified or penalized at any time during the race for the following reasons:
  2. Taking shortcuts and/or running off the trails.
  3. Not carrying the mandatory equipment.
  4. Throwing garbage onto the course (this applies to both the race and his/her supporters).
  5. Receiving outside support at other than the stipulated aid stations.
  6. Running with people who are not officially registered in the race as racers.
  7. Cheating (e.g. using other means of transportation, using substitute runners, and other unlawful actions).
  8. Not abiding by the instructions given by official race staff including doctors, nurses, and emergency staff.
  9. Continuing to run after the cut off times.
  10. Doping and the use of prohibited drugs.

RACER RESPONSIBILITIES

RACE CANCELLATION

  • The race organization reserves the right to cancel or cut-short the race for the following reasons:
  • Weather warnings sent by the meteorological agency
  • The inability to ensure runner safety due to risks such as landslides and rockfalls along the course.
  • Natural disasters (or declared warnings issued by the “BMKG-Badan Meteorologi dan Klimatologi) In such a case, the race course cannot be changed to continue the race, nor will the race be postponed to a later date.
  • The decision as to whether or not the race will be cancelled will be made on the day before the race or on the day of the race. This will be communicated via the official race website.
  • In the event of an earthquake, hurricane/typhoon, flood, incidents, accidents and/or epidemics, the race organization reserves the right to make judgments and decisions regarding the shortening/cancelling of the race, whether or not there will be refunds, the amount, and the method of communication.

  • Set within an area of twenty-two hectares of outstanding natural beauty; surrounded by cooling highland-air, eight mountains, tropical gardens and lush vegetation. Only 45 minutes from the world renowned Borobudur Temple.
  • By Plane MesaStila is conveniently located between Semarang Airport, Jogjakarta Airport and Solo Airport. It takes 45 minutes by plane from Jakarta to Semarang Airport, 60 minutes from Jakarta to Jogjakarta or Solo Airport and 60 minutes from Bali to Jogjakarta or Solo Airport.
  • By car It takes about one and a half hour by car from Semarang Airport and two hours by car from Jogjakarta Airport or Solo Airport to MesaStila

HOW TO REGISTER

MesaStila100 will be held on:

We are located in between three international airport of Semarang, Solo and Jogja. It takes about 90 minutes drive from Semarang Airport and about 2 hours drive from Jogja/Solo Airport to MesaStila. The domestic flight from Jakarta to Semarang/Jogja Airport is available every hour, while the direct international flight from Singapore and KL are also available in several times to Semarang/Solo/Jogja Airport. 

The best way to access MesaStila/Venue is Semarang Airport; alternatively, you may consider Jogja Airport but it has a longer journey.

 

No, You should ensure your batteries is fully recharged and bring spare batteries.

There are no specific areas where you must be able to receive SMS messages. You must keep your mobile phone on at all times in order to receive messages regarding bad weather, earthquakes and other emergencies.

 

You may receive an emergency phone call from the race headquarters so please carry a spare battery and keep the phone on during the race.

This is strong tape that can not only be used for emergencies such as fractures and injuries but can also be used for many things including repairing broken equipment (such as your backpack straps). The minimum length is 80cm x 3cm.

Yes. You can bring a sleeping bag style survival blanket as long as it meets the size requirements when completely spread out.

Yes – this is okay. The long pants/tights are to keep you warm so if the weather is good and the temperature is high, you can put these items in your backpack. If you feel cold, please take them out of your backpack and wear them.

Neither a cap and headband nor a jacket hood meet the requirements of “warm hat”. You must bring a warm hat that covers both ears (for example wool or polyester knit cap)

 

 No. You do not have to wear the mandatory equipment at all times. You can put it in your backpack if you’re not using it. You can run in your bathing suit if you’d like – just make sure you have all the items in the backpack you’re carrying with you during the race or else you will be disqualified. There will be gear checks for the MPC

 

Yes. There will be plenty of water available at the aid stations.

12k/25k/50k/75k/120k, running at the area five mountains nearby MesaStila Wellness Retreat, Start MesaStila to Mt. Andong 1767m – MT. Merbabu 3145m – Mt. Merapi 2930m – Mt. Telomoyo 1916m – Mt. Gilipetung 1450m; the challenge tracks filled with various scenery, such as run/walk on top altitude at the small path, steep track and cliff area is great and challenging moment following overgrown jungle trails, small village roads, rice paddy-tracks, pine tree forest and coffee plantation paths finishing at MesaStila-– the enticing wellness retreat.

This event and much of the course is off-road where traffic will not be an issue, you can use the above mentioned items to make your experience more enjoyable. That being said, you need to be aware of your immediate surroundings.
